castello Sforzesco Milano

The Fountain of Piazza Castello is located in front of the Sforzesco Castle, nicknamed "Turta di spus" for its round shape with a fan-shaped drop on top, a favorite background of souvenir photos of kisses between lovers and a symbol of the city after the Duomo.

The Fountain of Four Seasons, so called for the four statues positioned inside it that represent the seasons of the year, is composed of three communicating basins whose water flows through the wonderful choreography of splashes and colors, a show not to be missed especially in the evening hours when the waters turn blue and red reaching up to eight meters high. It is located in the Citylife district, therefore also called Citylife Fountain, adjacent to a large park frequented by sportsmen and families alike.

The Piermarini Fountain, whose name is dedicated to the architect who built it, is located in Piazza Fontana, a place very popular with both tourists heading to the Duomo and students for its proximity to the University of Studies. It consists of 3 small tanks at the base that surround the larger central one, topped by three Carrara marble sirens called "The Teodolinde" which support two other basins on the head.

The Fountain of Piazza Gae Aulenti is located in the area of the Porta Nuova skyscrapers, it is a modern structure located six meters above the road below, from where you can admire the Milan skyline. This fountain is a sight for visitors thanks to its waters that are reflected on the ground of the square creating a fantastic game of mirrors, also appreciated as refreshment on hot days as you can cross the square by walking on the water.

The Fountain for the Sailors of Italy, built by the architect Francesco Somaini at the behest of the Italian Sailors Association and inaugurated in 1967 in the presence of the Prime Minister in office Aldo Moro, is dedicated to the seafarers who fell in battle during the Second World War. The fountain is located in the Marinai d’Italia park, a few meters from the Palazzina Liberty, a location for recreational and cultural events, today named after the Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo and his wife Franca Rame
